DAN AIR announces a significant milestone in its growth strategy by expanding its flight network and strengthening operational capacity. Starting April 2026, the Romanian carrier will introduce six new destinations from Bucharest and Bacău, supported by the entry into service of an additional aircraft.
The network expansion reflects DAN AIR's commitment to increasing Romania’s regional and international connectivity, providing passengers with diverse options to major European economic and tourist hubs.
Enhanced Connectivity from Bucharest and Bacău
The new routes will be operationalized progressively, starting the first week of April, according to the following schedule:
-
Bucharest – Larnaca: starting April 1st (Wednesdays and Sundays);
-
Bacău – Madrid / Bacău – Larnaca: starting April 2nd (Thursdays and Sundays);
-
București – Valencia / Bacău – Valencia: starting April 3rd (Mondays and Fridays);

In addition to the new destinations, DAN AIR is increasing flight frequencies to Bruxelles and Brussels and London Luton, reaching 3 weekly frequencies for each, catering to the increased demand from the business segment and the diaspora.
Operational Efficiency and Strategic Vision
The decision to introduce a second aircraft into the scheduled flight program confirms the operator’s financial and operational stability. With a solid track record in 2025—a year in which it transported over 235,000 passengers with a 98% punctuality rate—DAN AIR is consolidating its role as a regional pillar, transforming Bacău Airport into a strategic hub with 12 active destinations.
"The introduction of the second aircraft allows us to take a step forward in the development of DAN AIR and to honor our commitment to constantly expand our route network and connectivity options," stated Matt Ian David, CEO of DAN AIRHe emphasized that the new frequencies are tailored to passenger needs and long-term operational conditions, aiming for sustainable growth.
The RACA Perspective: Consolidating Romanian Capital in Aviation
From the perspective of the Romanian Airline Companies Association, DAN AIR's success is a positive signal for the entire national aeronautical industry. Investments in fleet and route portfolio diversification demonstrate the resilience of Romanian private operators in a highly competitive European market.
RACA supports the initiatives of its members that contribute to citizen mobility and the development of regional airport infrastructure—essential elements for Romania’s economic growth. The expansion of DAN AIR confirms that Romanian technical expertise and strategic management can generate efficient, safe, and accessible air transport solutions.
