Board of Directors
► The Board of Directors is the executive body of RACA "Carpathia" and is responsible for the administration and day-to-day management of the Association's activities. The Board of Directors is composed of a group of members elected by the General Assembly and holds decision-making and oversight responsibilities regarding the Association's policies and actions.
► The RACA "Carpathia" Board of Directors team is composed of leaders with significant experience in the aviation industry.
Marius Popescu, aviation specialist and licensed pilot, with expertise in communication and market management at TAROM (2020–2023), as well as a strong background in European affairs and international relations. He has held roles within key government institutions, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Tourism, where he contributed to the development and coordination of national communication and promotion strategies.
Cătălin Ilie, General Manager of Uplift Aviation Services, an emerging ground handling provider in Romania, offering a wide range of services focused on safety and quality. He brings over 20 years of experience in the field, having previously served as Deputy General Manager at Blue Air and Executive Director of Bacău “George Enescu” International Airport (BCM). He has also held various leadership roles within Lutas/GlobeGround and Ion Țiriac Air.
Gabriel Stoe, he has built a solid career in civil aviation, with experience leading some of the industry’s most prominent institutions. He served as CEO of TAROM following a mandate as Chief Financial Officer, and later led the National Company of Bucharest Airports (CNAB), overseeing operations at the capital’s main airports (OTP and BBU). He currently serves on the Board of Directors at Craiova International Airport (CRA) and is actively involved in infrastructure modernization projects and initiatives to attract new airline operators.
Alexandru Trăsnea , he is the co-founder and CEO of Airplate Inflight Catering, a company specializing in premium catering services for commercial, private, military and governmental aviation, with operations at Romania’s major airports. Previously, he served as Regional Manager at TD Maci Catering and gained experience with Wizz Air and Menzies Aviation, strengthening his expertise in the operational and commercial areas of aviation services. He is currently involved in the development of innovative projects in the field of auxiliary aviation services, contributing to the modernization and diversification of the sector’s offerings.
