The airport will be built on land located between the localities of Braniștea, Slobozia Conachi, and Tudor Vladimirescu, covering a generous area designated for both aviation operations and adjacent public investments. Its proximity to Galați and Brăila, with a distance of just a few kilometers, makes it accessible to a population base of over one million residents, including those from neighboring areas such as Tecuci and Focșani.
The Galați-Brăila metropolis, which includes this airport project, is one of the most populous metropolitan areas in Romania, ranking second after Bucharest-Ilfov in terms of population density.
