The Board of Directors is the executive body of ACAR „Carpathia” and is responsible for the day-to-day administration and management of the Association's activities. The Board of Directors is made up of a group of members elected by the General Assembly and has decision-making and supervisory powers over the policies and actions of the Association.

Marius Popescu

President

Aviation specialist and pilot. Skilled in communication and market management at TAROM (2020–2023), with expertise in European affairs and international relations. With a presence within state authorities such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Tourism, he contributed to the development and coordination of national communication and promotion strategies.

Cătălin Ilie

Vice President

General manager of Uplift Aviation Services, an emerging provider of ground handling services in Romania with a wide range of services focused on safety and quality. He has over 20 years of experience in the field, having served as deputy general manager at Blue Air and executive director at Bacău „George Enescu” International Airport (BCM). He has held various management positions within Lutas/GlobeGround and Ion Țiriac Air.

Gabriel Stoe

Vice President

A solid career in civil aviation, with experience in leading reference institutions in the field. He was Director General of TAROM, following a term as Financial Director, and subsequently led the National Airports Company Bucharest (CNAB), managing the activity of the main airports in the capital (OTP and BBU). He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Craiova International Airport (CRA) and is actively involved in projects to modernise airport infrastructure and attract new air operators.

Alexandru Trăsnea

Secretary General

Co-founder and CEO of Airplate Inflight Catering, a company specialising in premium catering services for commercial, private and government aviation, with operations at the main airports in Romania. Previously, he held the position of Regional Manager at TD Maci Catering and gained experience within Wizz Air and Menzies Aviation, consolidating his expertise in the operational and commercial area of aviation services. He is currently involved in developing innovative projects in the field of auxiliary aviation services, contributing to the modernisation and diversification of the offering in this sector.

Through the integrated approach of the ACAR „Carpathia” team's experience, we ensure not only full coverage of the aviation sectors, but also the role of a genuine facilitator of consensus. By promoting common values, the aim is to ensure a safe and development-oriented Romanian aviation. This strategic direction guarantees a level playing field for all airlines, encouraging healthy competitiveness and innovation within the industry.
